Consumer magazine Which? has published a list of the retailers selling the cheapest school uniforms for when schools reopen in September
Supermarket chain Sainsbury's has been named the cheapest place for parents to buy school uniforms for their kids. The research by Which? magazine also found that Next was the most expensive.
The results found that Tu Clothing at Sainsbury's was the cheapest and cost £47. But the same selection at Next cost more than double that amount at £102. However, Which? noted that due to some of the items being sold individually rather than in multipacks, it had to double the price of a single item to allow for comparison. Morrisons was the second cheapest at £48.95.
In June, The Children's Society warned that parents are having to spend "exorbitant amounts" on school uniforms, despite changes being made in an attempt to bring costs down. The charity said parents were spending around £422 per year on uniforms for secondary school children and around £287 for primary school children.
