The FSAI has issued food allerts and allergen warnings for several products sold in supermarkets like Tesco, Spar, and Supervalu over the last week
Multiple food products have been removed from supermarket shelves across the country in the last week due to health alerts from the Food Safety Authority of Ireland .
Consumers are being warned to steer clear of these items, which include a selection of cheeses, popular snacks and chicken products. A full list of the alerts recently issued by the FSAI can be seen below: Horgans Cheddar Cheese A batch of Horgans Irish Smoked Cheddar with approval number IE 1089 EC and the use-by date of 25/05/2025 is being recalled due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. A warning on the FSAI site reads: "Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications.
Burren Smokehouse Organic Hot Smoked Salmon A number of batches of Smokehouse organic hot smoked salmon products are being recalled due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The full list of implicated products can be viewed here.
