James Martin has issued an urgent message to his fans after discovering that fraudsters were pretending to be him on social media. Posting a screenshot of an account pretending to be him, the Saturday Morning Kitchen chef, 51, James wrote: "JFAKES AND SCAMMERS... please read...
He continued: "The accounts and pages shown here are just a small selection of what we have seen and reported lately. As I have posted before... neither my management team or me will ever ask you to follow a 'private fans page', target you with requests via comments you leave on posts, ask you to transfer money, send personal information or buy vouchers etc.
Last year, James announced that he was taking a break from his ITV show Saturday Morning with James Martin after being diagnosed with cancer. The chef revealed that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer in 2018 and required a number of operations to beat the disease.
