It will save you a fortune in the long run
Meal-prepping and cooking from scratch is the cheapest way to eat amid the cost of living crisis, according to foodie Lilly Higgins.
Lilly tells RSVP Live: “Cooking from scratch is the most cost effective and healthiest way to eat. That’s the mantra I’ve started this year off with, as well as doing meal prep.”But Lilly explains that you don’t have to be a masterchef to make your own food, sharing an example of a cheap homemade sauce she often uses for a variety of dishes.
Not only does cooking from scratch help you put some extra money back in your pocket, Lilly says it is so important for gut health, a topic which she is extremely passionate about. This month, Lilly has become an ambassador for ‘The innocent Big Knit’ in partnership with Age Action, aiming to give older people a better quality of life in lots of different ways.
