reported on Thursday that Brighton agreed a fee with Chelsea for the left-sided Spanish defender, who has now signed a six-year deal with the west London side.
It is understood Brighton will receive an up-front sum for Cucurella of £56million , with the prospect of a further £7million in additional clauses, a deal which sees the club receive their record transfer fee. On his move, Cucurella said: “I’m really happy. It’s a big opportunity for me to join one of the best clubs in the world and I’m going to work hard to be happy here and help the team.”quality and he further strengthens our squad going into the new season. We continue to work on and off the pitch, and we’re delighted Marc will be a part of the present and future at Chelsea.”No loan fee is involved for the 19-year-old.
