Chelsea Football Club has warned its supporters against transferring home match tickets to fans of Shamrock Rovers ahead of their Europa Conference League encounter at Stamford Bridge. The club emphasized that tickets are intended solely for Chelsea supporters and warned of a 12-month ban from attending matches for those found in violation.
Chelsea have warned fans that they are not to transfer tickets for the home section to supporters of Shamrock Rovers , ahead of Thursday night’s Europa Conference League clash at Stamford Bridge. The Hoops are in London for their final league phase match, with both sides guaranteed progress to the knockouts in the new year.
Chelsea are set for the last-16, while Rovers, currently sixth in the 36-team table, can still squeeze in and avoid the February play-off round, but could end up relying on results elsewhere. Almost 3,000 tickets were quickly snapped up for the sold-out away end, with demand far exceeding supply. This has led to fears within the Premier League club that visiting fans might try to get their hands on tickets for the home sections at Stamford Bridge. So on Tuesday they issued a warning on the official club website, alerting Blues supporters that they could face a 12-month suspension from attending all Chelsea matches, plus the loss of a season ticket if applicable, if they are found to have transferred their ticket to an opposition fan. The statement read: “At this stage of the season we wish to remind our supporters that all tickets sold for the home areas of Stamford Bridge and Kingsmeadow are for use by fans of Chelsea Football Club only. They are not for use by the supporters of any team in opposition at a match. “This applies to hospitality seating as well as general admission areas, and to all season tickets and individual match tickets. This policy is in operation for all competitions, including European matches such as the one against Shamrock Rovers in the UEFA Conference League this week. “The only tickets permitted to be used by fans of the visiting club are sold via their own club onl
