Greedy hotel companies are fleecing racing fans in the Cotswolds, with accommodation costing much less in Liverpool
Hotel prices are up to 225% dearer in Cheltenham during next year's Festival than they are in Liverpool for Aintree 's Grand National meeting one month later, we can reveal.
Although ticket prices into the races are similar for both meetings, there is a huge difference in the cost of hotels. But even more bonkers a comparison is the Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham Town Centre asking punters for a massive £2,450 , which is 225% dearer than the £753 the ibis Liverpool Centre Albert Dock is charging.
And it is clear to see why more and more Irish punters are heading to Merseyside for the three-day Grand National meeting, which took place last weekend, with Liverpool's city centre full of travelling backers each night after racing.
