Cherry Valentine's family issue statement as star of RuPaulsDragRaceUK dies aged 28
One of the stars of of hit show RuPaul's Drag Race UK has died aged 28. George Ward, who performed under the stage name of Cherry Valentine, appeared in the second series of the popular TV contest earlier this year.
Ward discussed his Traveller roots in a moving documentary called 'Cherry Valentine: Gypsy Queen and Proud' which was filmed and aired on the BBC following their appearance on Drag Race. Hosted by world-renowned drag artist RuPaul, Drag Race is a TV talent contest which sees drag artists compete to be crowned the 'next drag superstar'. The UK version of the show, which airs on the BBC, is a spin-off off the American version.
