Bears general manager Ryan Poles announced that Thomas Brown , recently appointed as interim offensive coordinator, would take over as interim head coach. After a meeting with club chairman George McCaskey and chief executive Kevin Warren, Poles informed Eberflus of the decision.
The Bears suffered their sixth consecutive NFL defeat, despite rallying from a 16-0 deficit to trail by only three points late in the fourth quarter. However, penalties and poor clock management led to a loss, adding to a string of recent disappointing performances
