THE sun is shining, lots of taps aff about the town and plenty of Glaswegians heading down to Ayrshire or up to Loch Lomond to soak in some of the beautiful beaches that are so close to our city.I can’t really enjoy this lovely spell of weather because I have seen the latest figures from End Child Poverty, which showed devastating outcomes for the children in our city.One child in our city living in poverty is bad enough. This number is nothing short of appalling.
The constant conversation and politics of division is the narrative they continue to parrot, when the reality of poverty and suffering is right in front of them.That’s why we have 35,891 children whose access to betterGlasgow deserves better that this. Glaswegians deserve better than this. Our children deserve better than this.A change is coming. And it can’t come soon enough.
