And the Chelsea star said he has been left gutted by the timing of his latest injury setback, having only recently come back from a long-term layoff. “Following my ACL injury I worked so hard to make sure I was ready for the World Cup – it has always been a dream of mine,” Chilwell posted on Twitter. “Unfortunately, this won’t be possible following my scan results. I’ll do all I can to get back playing for Chelsea ASAP. Thanks for the messages of support.”
The England national team account sent a message of support in response to Chilwell’s comments, posting: “You’ll come back stronger.”FIFA also sent their well wishes to the Three Lions and Chelsea ace with a post that read: “Wishing a speedy recovery, Ben.”“Following the injury sustained in our recent game against Dinamo Zagreb, Ben has undergone a scan on his hamstring,” the club wrote on their official website.
