Chris Eubank Jr admits he expects to be ‘drained’ when he weighs in for Conor Benn fight
Chris Eubank Jr has told talkSPORT that he expects to be ‘drained’ when he weighs in for his fight with Conor Benn on October 8.which captured the attention of the nation during the 1990s.Benn was accompanied by his trainer Tony SimsBenn will be moving up 10lbs from welterweight , while Eubank Jr will drop a further 3lbs from middleweight .
The pair will then have to do a second weigh-in on fight day after agreeing a rehydration clause in the contract.“It’s a weight I haven’t been since I was about 18 years old.Eubank Jr began his career between 160lbs and 168lbs and has never been as low as 157lbs before“But I will make it because I’m a professional…“I know how it feels when I’m at 160lbs the day of the weigh in, so losing three more pounds under that, it’s gonna be painful, it’s gonna hurt.
“But there has to be give and take, he’s coming up, he’s not naturally that size or he doesn’t fight naturally at that size.“On the night we will be within five pounds of each other, which in my opinion is fair.”In contrast, Benn told talkSPORT: “It’s not a concern to me.“So we know what I walk around at, we know what I feel strong at and the sparring that I’ve been getting in over the period of years now.
