Hollywood actor Chris O'Dowd and actress Christina Hendricks arrive in Dublin to promote O'Dowd's new Sky series, 'Small Town, Big Story'. The series, set in a fictional Irish town, follows the arrival of a Hollywood TV production crew that uncovers a long-kept secret.
Chris O’Dowd made a grand entrance into Dublin on Thursday evening alongside Hollywood star Christina Hendricks to promote his Sky series, Small Town , Big Story. The pair graced the red carpet, where Hendricks showered praise on the series and O’Dowd’s exceptional scriptwriting skills. “He writes a brilliant script,” she enthused, “and sent it to me, and I laughed out loud, and I thought, I haven't read anything like this ever, and this could be really fun. Yeah, I would have fun doing it.
And if we got picked up and got to keep doing it for a couple of years, I think I would really enjoy that.” Small Town, Big Story is Sky's captivating six-part series set in Drumbán, a fictional rural town nestled on the border of Ireland and another realm. As a Hollywood TV production crew descends upon the town, they inadvertently illuminate a long-held secret that has remained shrouded since the dawn of the Millennium. Hendricks portrays Wendy Patterson, a local girl who has achieved success as a high-profile television producer, returning to her hometown from Los Angeles with a Hollywood production in tow. Paddy Considine takes on the role of Drumbán's beloved local doctor and pillar of the community, Seamus Proctor. Eileen Walsh embodies Catherine Proctor, Seamus’ wife and a respected local schoolteacher. Leia Murphy and David Rawle portray siblings Joanne and Sonny Proctor. Patrick Martins shines as Jules O’Brien, Evanne Kilgallon as Shelly McGoldrick, Andrew Bennett as Barry Battles, Ruth McCabe as Betty Battles, and David Wilmot as Keith McCurdle. Small Town, Big Story is set to premiere on Thursday, February 27th, on Sky Atlantic and NOW
