Chris Pratt in an Instagram post wondered how long parents need to keep their kids' trophies after looking through his wife's childhood things, which included a 'fourth grade problem solving superstar' award.
Chris Pratt joked this week about how important it is to keep every trophy, medal and ribbon children collect as they’re growing up. The actor, 44, shared photos of his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, 33, looking through boxes of awards her parents kept from her childhood and expressed his true feelings on Instagram. He said that he was grateful she had so many wonderful memories, but also wondered if he needed to do the same for his children.
He mused that the 'payoff for the work it took to store this stuff' is the 'smile on her face as she relives moments of her youth. To pray one day that your children will look back on their childhood with glee is a blessing. It is the hope of parenthood.' But he also wondered if parents really need to keep everything that belongs to their child.
But real talk… once your kid goes through the stuff, is it okay to toss?' Pratt wondered. 'I mean… do we need the ‘I was on a sports team trophy?’ Can they be donated? Repurposed? How many do we gotta keep? Not all of them right? Any of them? Is there a grading scale? Like, did you win? Were you a champion? Is there a specific sentimental connection? Help me out here.
