Christy Dignam opened up in an emotional and honest interview
Christy, can you tell us about your new solo album The Man Who Stayed Alive and the “Back Christy” campaign?
That’s great to see she is following in her father’s footsteps! It’s a very fickle business though, did you ever worry about her choosing that career path? The last year-and-a-half has been so tough, the finances just stopped. My savings have been totally depleted. If the lockdown had gone on much longer I don’t know how I would have survived to be honest. The entertainment industry is opening up at the perfect time for me because the finances I had put aside are all gone. But look, it’s not just me, a lot of people in this business have been brought to a standstill when it comes to work so you can’t really complain.
You previously described Kathryn as your rock for supporting you through your alcohol and drugs addiction. Would you ever have a drink now?
