Cillian Murphy has become the first ever Irish-born man to win the Best Actor Academy Award. Congrats to him!
Cillian had ben tipped to go home with the gong following the success of the Christopher Nolan film, and Cillian’s incredible performance in the role.In his speech, Cillian thanked the entire team behind Oppenheimer, his wife, his sons, his fellow nominees, and Nolan for the last 20 years of his career.“I’m a very proud Irishman standing here tonight,” he said.
“We made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb, and for better or for worse, we’re all living in Oppenheimer’s world, so I would really like to dedicate this to the peacemakers everywhere.A post shared by VIP Magazine Emma Stone picked up the Oscar for Best Actress for Irish produced Poor Things, while Da’Vine Joy Randolph was awarded Best Supporting Actress for The Holdovers.
