Netflix film boss Scott Stuber told theater owners that showing KnivesOut2 could pave the way for more theatrical for the streamer. Ted Sarandos blocked putting it in more theaters, and publicly diminished the company's theatrical plans this week
for one week over Thanksgiving before the sequel hits the streamer a month later.
“There are all kinds of debates all the time, back and forth. But there is no question internally that we make our movies for our members, and we really want them to see them on Netflix,” Sarandos said in an earnings call. “Most people watch movies at home.”
