The charity helped more people with food bank referrals and access to emergency grants.
A record 9,600 people a day on average sought help from Citizens Advice between January and April in what the charity is calling its 'bleakest-ever' start to the year.
Dame Clare Moriarty, chief executive of Citizens Advice, said:"The cost of living crisis is far from over. The fact we’ve experienced our bleakest-ever start of the year shows the Government cannot afford to turn their gaze away from the issues people are facing. "And while staff and volunteers in local offices work tirelessly every day to help people, there’s only so much we can do. We can see Government support helps, but more is needed in the future for struggling households.With many people struggling with the cost of living crisis, Citizens Advice offers support at, including getting help with essential costs. You might be eligible for the Household Support Fund and cost of living payments.
