They're appealing to anyone who can help
The only Ukraine donation drop-off point in Nottingham is at risk of closing down. CityHub Ukraine, a volunteer group formed to respond to the war in Ukraine, has been based at an unused ward at Nottingham City Hospital for more than a year.
Ann Vickers, who runs CityHub Ukraine alongside her husband, Stuart, and other volunteers, received an email on August 2 stating she needs to find other premises as soon as possible. Ann, from Woodthorpe. said: “We’re eternally grateful for this building, we get it for nothing, everyone knows we’re here and no matter what happens, we will carry on.“We’re appealing to big companies who might have space to let us use it or anyone else who can help.
Ex-nurse Julie Golding, who volunteers at CityHub Ukraine, said: “Because we’re on hospital grounds, I have a lot of contacts. We’re near maternity and oncology. Anthony May, Chief Executive at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “We are pleased to have been able to support the vital efforts of the City Ukraine Hub, and are very keen to find a way to continue to do so.
