'They know that I work hard. I just think it was a step too far for me not to be there every single Monday night too'
Claire Byrne says she and her husband Gerry Scollan have a "very happy household" and their kids are starting to ask if she is famous.
Claire said: "We are a very happy household. My children are a bit more curious about what I do now... sometimes they ask me if I am famous and I just say 'No! No one is famous, it is a small country.She told the RTÉ Guide: "But you are never just a Mammy, are you? But a lot of my focus is around what the children are doing and making sure we have enough food in the house. They are eating all the time. It is constant.
She said: "I am gone every morning. I leave the house at 6.50am so I am not there for their going to school bit everyday and I think that is enough really to be able to tech them about the value of work. Claire is back on screens for a brand new quiz show called Ireland's Smartest. She's also hotly tipped to take over from Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show.
