The Inagh Kilnamona man has shown off incredible talent from a young age, and the 24-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down - his brother is also involved in GAA and he was on Ireland's Fittest Family
Born in 2000, the 24-year-old has been impressed at both club and county level since his teenage years.
Speaking last year, Clare hurling legend Fergal Hegarty praised Aidan for putting in "real graft" so he could get back to playing the sport he loves. Famous brother Aidan's older brother is Jason McCarthy, who is also a hurler. He captained the Clare U21s team in 2018. "We are only concerned that he is okay. I wouldn't be shouting at Clare GAA or the GAA in general. This is a wider issue in society and with our health system unfortunately. There was nothing we could do unfortunately," Inagh Kilnamona Chairman Ollie Mescall told the Clare Champion at the time.
