Andres Gimenez broke a 3-3 tie with a bases-loaded single in the ninth off Craig Kimbrel. Ernie Clement followed with a sacrifice fly as Josh Naylor rumbled home to make it 5-3. The G’s loaded the bases on a walk by Oscar Gonzalez, a double by Naylor and an intentional walk to Steven Kwan. Palacios is 3-for-6 with six RBI as a pinch-hitter. All three of his hits have been doubles. On Friday night, his pinch-hit sacrifice fly in the 10th inning gave the Guardians a 2-1 win over the Dodgers.
He retired the next three batters in order and faced the minimum over the next three innings. Justin Turner opened the fourth with a single, but was erased when Alvarez grounded into a double play. Bieber struck out the side in order in the fifth and retired the Dodgers in order again in the sixth.
