Scott Currie sold bagpipes but has expanded to offer guitars and drum kits

A music shop in Coatbridge town centre is hitting all the right notes with musicians of all abilities.

He said: “I started the business as a limited company in 2009, working from home and had my first premises in Bellshill in 2014.Get all the news from your area – as well as features, entertainment, sport and the latest on Lanarkshire’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic – straight to your fingertips, 24/7.

“Towards the end of Covid I started to look for somewhere else and found Coatbridge Business Centre by complete accident, and moved lock, stock and barrel over here.” “Guitarists seem to be like golfers, they come in and look for the newest and latest, buy it and then sneak it into the house hoping their wives don’t notice.

Scott’s always been familiar with the town, his mum’s side of the family is from Coatbridge, and in some respects he’s carrying on a tradition with his shop in the centre, opposite Albion Rovers' football ground.
