Actor Colin Farrell has announced that he has joined the Irish Oscar hopeful short film ' Room Taken ' as Executive Producer . Directed by TJ O'Grady-Peyton and starring multi-nominated Olivier Award and Tony Award-winning Bríd Brennan alongside newcomer Gabriel Adewusi, this charming short film has qualified for the 2025 Academy Awards. Farrell said he is thrilled 'to be a part of helping Room Taken find as wide an audience as possible.
' The film follows a recently arrived asylum seeker, Isaac, in Dublin who, in a desperate need for a place to stay, finds an unexpected answer to his temporary homelessness when he takes refuge in the home of an elderly blind woman, Victoria, without her knowledge. As these two strangers coexist, a touching and unexpected bond forms between them. Tackling pressing themes including the challenges faced by asylum seekers and Ireland's rising homeless population, whilst shining a light on the growing epidemic of isolation and loneliness amongst the elderly, Room Taken also celebrates the importance of community and of coexistence
