The Dubliner returns as the title character - a.k.a. Oswald 'Oz' Cobb - reprising his role from the 2022 film The Batman.

The Penguin star Colin Farrell has admitted he asked show bosses if one of the episodes was “too dark” for viewers.

He said: “You can’t expect the audience to have an experience that you’re not having yourself when you’re bringing a story to life, I think so in doing it you get inured to it because there’s not that much surprise anymore whereas plot twists and storylines go. “Talk about the crew being involved and invested, when we were shooting the scene in episode eight, there was an able funk on the set that night. The whole crew were…. Yeah.”

Speaking to Cat and Ben, Colin revealed all about a naked torture scene: “To go for a pee was a bit tricky - but I don't have breakfast or lunch, so Penguin was intermittent fasting. 'But when I did have a comfort break it'd take about 20 minutes and need a sat nav to find yourself with all the layers, buttons and zips.
