At least two people were taken to hospital following a collision involving a BC Transit bus and an SUV at Douglas and Bay streets in Victoria.
The northbound bus on Douglas Street was stopped at Bay Street, and when the traffic light turned green the bus driver proceeded through the intersection. Then the driver of the SUV, who was heading east on Bay Street, collided with the bus before crashing into a sedan on Bay Street.
BC Transit says it’s aware of the incident “between a bus and three vehicles,” telling CHEK News in a statement: “BC Transit bus on Route 30 was travelling northbound on Douglas Street just before 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle travelling eastbound on Bay Street struck the bus.” The transit corporation says passengers were on board the bus at the time, and two were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.CHEK News has reached out to BC Emergency Health Services and Victoria Police for more information.Sign up for the CHEK Now daily email newsletter to get breaking news and the day's top stories sent to your email.
