Comedian and broadcaster PJ Gallagher and his partner Kelly Doolin have welcomed the arrival of their baby twins, a boy and a girl.
Kelly and PJ had initially announced they were expecting back in March, with Kelly joining PJ to discuss their thoughts about parenthood live on air. At the time, Kelly said PJ had been very reassuring. "I was quite sick during the first trimester and he took very good care of me," she said.PJ’s partner Kelly Doolin is originally from Boston but has lived in Dublin for the past 12 years. She works as a scientist and met PJ through their mutual love of Bohemian FC.
PJ shared he received treatment in St. Patrick's University Hospital for 11 weeks after admitting himself due to suicidal ideation. PJ said his mother Helen was “absolutely off the wall” and her great sense of humour was probably one of the reasons he became a comedian.“She was wild, no doubt about it, she was wild and liked to party but she ran out of steam about 30 years ago, but that divilment was still in there right until the very end,” PJ said proudly.
