Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Brendan Carr says he has “little confidence there’s a path forward” when it comes to trying to make a national security agreement with the social media app TikTok.
The harsh words come after multiple recent reports on how TikTok handles U.S. users' data. A national security agreement with the app would be part of allowing it to continue operating in the United States. The U.S. is concerned that China could try to gain access to the data that the social platform has on U.S. citizens.
