City council’s environment committee heard a presentation on Monday summing up the 52-page water conservation strategy, and unanimously recommended it to council.
She said lower usage will help the city avoid costly spending on water treatment facilities and better prepare for summers that are expected to feature more days above 30 C due to climate change, she said. Council will be asked to approve the strategy in principle later this month. Should that vote pass, the individual programs and proposals would still have to come back for votes along the way.Article content
