Team England have claimed gold medals in weightlifting and mountain bike racing today - latest
The 2022 Commonwealth Games are in full swing with more than 5,000 athletes competing at this year's competition in Birmingham. A total of 72 Commonwealth nations are being represented at the games and there are 280 gold medals up for grabs.
England has bagged a total of 35 gold medals putting them in second place, behind Australia, last year's champions, who have 42 gold medals so far. Scotland is currently in seventh place with four gold medals, closely followed by Wales in eighth with three so far. England's medal winners include Alex Yee, who won the first gold medal of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, taking victory in the men’s triathlon, before going on to win another gold in the mixed team relay triathlon alongside Sophie Coldwell, Sam DickinsonREAD MORE:
