Preston Pedals, a group set up to encourage people in Preston to get on their bikes for everyday journeys and save bikes from landfill, is holding a free open event.Last year, the group piloted a community cycle hub with money from the National Lottery. The group’s ambition now is to become a community cycling cooperative.
“We are hoping to involve as many people as possible in planning the way forward for our community bike hub cooperative,” said Julie Ridley, event organiser. “Everyone is welcome to attend, so come along and join us, have your say about what we do and how we do it.” Preston Pedals would like to represent all communities in Preston and hope people will go along to outline what help is needed to encourage cycling for everyday journeys, shape how the group moves forward, set the agenda and get Preston pedalling.
