Many people were quick to ask what the lights were
A number of people have taken to social media to say they saw the flashes at various points during the night. As yet, the reason for them is unknown.
The lights were described as "orange" and looked as though they were "exploding". Daniel contacted the ECHO to say he saw the lights in the sky from around 9.30pm in the city centre on Saturday night.READ MORE: Girl, 3, fighting for life after falling from car into path of van He added: "I’ve just been playing and looked out of the window and saw this scary flashing don’t know what it could be first I thought it could be an exploding but it has been going on for the past 10 minutes and still is."
And several other people took to social media to ask what the lights were as they reported seeing similar. Over in Wirral, one person wrote on a local Facebook page that the sky was "flashing orange" towards Bromborough.Many people were quick to offer their views on what they could be as others called it "strange".
