Danis was disqualified for trying to choke out Paul in their boxing fight but McGregor was impressed with his teammate and has now doubled down on his praise
UFC legend Conor McGregor has praised Dillon Danis for going out "swinging" in his disqualification loss to Logan Paul.
McGregor was expected to be in attendance for the event to support Danis but he failed to show up on fight night. The Irishman tweeted to his teammate after his loss: "Proud of you Dillon! You built that card tremendously and went out swinging! Four-time jiu-jitsu world champion with the bottle to go into pro boxing in front of the world.
A member Paul's security team entered the ring earlier on several occasions as a result of Danis threatening to choke out his rival. Danis has vowed to appeal his defeat because of the offences, one of which saw Paul punch him whilst on the ground. "There was multiple offences. I’ll be submitting my appeal to the commission," Danis wrote on Twitter.
