A taunt made by Conor McGregor recently has come back to haunt him after the cancellation of his UFC 303 main event bout with Michael Chandler .
McGregor, who lost to Poirier twice since beating him, took a dig at the American after he was choked unconscious in his world title fight against Islam Makhachev at UFC 302 earlier this month. "500,000 PPV buys 302 done. A nothing burger," McGregor wrote of the event. UFC fans began to fear the worst for McGregor and Chandler's fight after their Dublin press conference was cancelled on just 12 hours notice earlier this month. 12,000 tickets for the press conference sold out in under four minutes and fans were not given a reason for why the event was cancelled.
