The Irishman will step foot in the octagon for the first time in almost three years when he faces Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29 in Las Vegas
Conor McGregor has been told he can earn himself a title shot against UFC champion Leon Edwards if he wins his comeback fight.
McGregor took a subtle dig at welterweight champion Edwards during a livestream with DuelBits as he said: "There's too many decisions going on with that Leon fella, Leon Edwards loves a decision." Edwards, who shares the same management as McGregor, has now welcomed a fight against the former two-weight champion if he beats Chandler.
"New York, that’d be perfect. That is the fight. He goes out there and takes out Michael. I take out no one remembers his name and we’ll go from there. We'll go to New York, Madison Square Garden, let's go. That’s the fight, I feel. We've both got business to take care of but that needs to happen and should happen.”
