Brisbane Lions defeated Sydney Swans in the AFL Grand Final, securing a dominant victory and making Conor McKenna one of only two players to win both the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and AFL premiership titles.
Tyrone ’s Conor McKenna claimed glory in the AFL Grand Final as the Brisbane Lions defeated the Sydney Swans in East Melbourne.
With the win, McKenna is now a part of a unique achievement as he is now one of two men to win the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and the Australian Football League premiership titles alongside Kerry’s Tadhg Kennelly.After winning the All-Ireland with Tyrone in 2021, McKenna came on as a substitute in the final quarter of this year’s Grand Final to aid Brisbane in the final few moments against the Swans, with over 100,000 fans in attendance.
Brisbane’s Kai Lohman and Callum Ah Chee both scored four goals in the win while Swans’ Luke Parker scored three. Lions led 27-19 after the first quarter and were 73-27 ahead at halftime.
