Galway GAA star Conor Whelan said: 'It is located just outside Galway city so it’s a nice little spot to start off with'
The All-Star hurler bought the place in the village of Castlegar but he has also been "middle of the road" when it comes to managing his finances.
Conor told RSVP Magazine: "I bought my first house last year, so that was a huge undertaking for me. It is in Castlegar in County Galway. The 25 year old said: "The housing market has always been competitive but it has gone to a new level now post lockdown. Growing up, Conor's parents would have given him pocket money, but it always had to be earned and nothing was handed over easily.
Post pandemic, a lot of people have ditched cash and only use their card when making purchases in person. Other than his house, what is the most expensive thing he owns? He revealed: "I have a massive boot collection, and that is worth a lot of money. Some of them are worth €500 a pair."
