The Seven Barrows stable star was unable to run at Cheltenham due to a health issue and is now a doubt for the Punchestown Festival.
Constitution Hill has spent the last four days in veterinary hospital with suspected colic after suffering another health setback.
The unbeaten seven-year-old missed the defence of his Champion Hurdle crown at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this month due to a respiratory infection but had been reported to be recovering well, with a trip to the Punchestown Festival in April a possibility. That now appears unlikely given the Seven Barrows star's health setback, with trainer Nicky Henderson releasing a statement on social media describing a "few traumatic days.
“We are not completely out of the woods but very hopeful that he will soon be back which will be an enormous relief. “This will obviously interfere with our plan to get to Punchestown which is very sad but the only important thing at the moment is to get him safely home.”
