FC Copenhagen came from 2-0 and 3-2 behind to claim victory over Manchester United and leave the Premier League team on the verge of an early Champions League exit
Jacob Neestrup rubbed salt into Manchester United's wounds after his FC Copenhagen team beat the Red Devils, claiming his side's performance was its worst so far in this season's Champions League.
Buoyed by a red card for Marcus Rashford, Copenhagen battled back to go in level at half-time. Bruno Fernandes restored United's lead from the penalty spot, only for late efforts from Lukas Lerager and Roony Bardghji to give the Danes a vital three points - despite Neestrup's reservations over their display.
"But if you take it over four rounds then it’s very, very well deserved Copenhagen is second place. I believe we have truly been the second best team over four games. Not today, but over four games." "He had a good year and I think he has bought himself a little bit of time in that respect," Scholes said. "He’s had a few injuries, but nine defeats in 17 games is not good enough.
