Cork City have secured the loan signing of 18-year-old Stoke City defender Freddie Anderson for the remainder of the 2025 season. Anderson, the son of former England international Viv Anderson, will gain valuable first-team experience at Turner’s Cross. He recently participated in the USA Under-20 training camp ahead of the Under-20 World Cup in Chile.

The son of former Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Manchester United and England defender Viv Anderson, the 18-year-old will spend the year at Turner’s Cross.

He made his Stoke first-team debut in the League Cup last August against Carlisle United, and scored in a 2-0 win. Cork boss Tim Clancy added: “Freddie is a very impressive young defender, who we obviously got a close look at in last summer’s friendly.
