Irish police intercepted a vehicle in Cork and arrested a man after discovering 12kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €840,000.
Gardaí arrested a man and seized 12 kilograms of suspected cocaine, worth an estimated €840,000, following the interception of a vehicle in Cork on Wednesday evening. As part of a national intelligence-led operation, Gardaí stopped a car traveling southbound on the M8 motorway at Glanmire. The driver, a male in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and is being held at a Garda station in Cork city under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.
The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis. A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing
