An inquest has opened into the death of a man who was found at a Nottinghamshire park. The body of Steven Cross, 34, was found off Cavendish Road in Carlton on January 30.

Opening the inquest into his death at Nottingham Council House on Monday, February 27, assistant coroner Neena Sharma said Mr Cross was identified by his fingerprints. She said his cause of death was yet to be ascertained. "For these reasons, I have opened an inquest into the death of Mr Cross," she said. "I would like to express my sincere condolences to the friends and family of Mr Cross for their loss." The inquest will continue at a date yet to be fixed.
