Corrie reviewed with a tale of two breakfasts and heartbreak for Hope after almost blowing up the street
We went to the heart, or the stomach, of Coronation Street in Monday night's episode as the hour-long episode began with a tale of two breakfasts. PC Craig Tinker took time out from being a bent copper to make fiancee Faye Windass breakfast 'à la Craigy' - tomato, bacon, scrambled egg 'with a secret ingredient.'
Meanwhile, over at Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman's flat, it was a happier breakfast scene as the loved-up couple hungrily tucked into their breakfast of eggs while exchanging innuendo. But beneath the picture of domestic bliss, Paul is still hiding the devastating secret from his loved-ones that he's living with motor neurone disease. But from breakfast onwards, life unravelled for both Faye and Paul.
Meanwhile, Faye caved and confessed all to Craig. Wanting to make sure Faye didn't return to jail after she was previously jailed for attacking Adam Barlow who she had mistaken for her predator boss Ray Crosby, he agreed to cover up for her and went to retrieve the evidence of her false nail dropped down Ted's sink.
Back with Paul and Billy, Paul was overcome with sorrow as his devastating diagnosis hit home. As Billy talked adoption, Paul collapsed in tears.
