Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley made birthday claim hours before 'cakegate' as she's accused of 'cardinal sin' by ITV star
Catherine Tyldesley made an interesting claim just hours before 'cakegate' broke out as another ITV star waded into the row. The former Coronation Street star was accused of being involved in asking a baker to make 100 cakes for her upcoming birthday in exchange for 'social media exposure'.
NVRLND later said the email had been ‘completely misconstrued’ and the arrangement would have covered the bakery’s expenses and costs. Meanwhile, Catherine, who is probably best known for having played Eva Price in ITV's Corrie, has since denied any involvement. She captioned the clip: "CAKE GATE - The Truth," before addressing each matter raised as she did so in her video. The former soap star rounded off her message by writing: "I genuinely do hope the bakery have got some exposure and receive lots of new orders! I’ve always supported local and small businesses. The abuse I have been receiving online is horrendous so hopefully this will put an end to it. And here’s to turning 40! Love Cath x.
But it wasn't just her birthday she was asked about as she was also quizzed on Corrie, her former show Scarborough and whether she and her husband Tom Pitfield are planning more children to which she said: "Good grief no!" The mum-of-two continued: "We are so thrilled with out two monkeys. Our family is complete."
