Two thirds said they have no plans to install one rising to 75% in rural areas
The cost of installing a heat pump is off-putting for 61 per cent of Irish households according to a new survey. The research by Fuels for Ireland and the Alliance for Zero Carbon Heating found two thirds have no plan to install one, rising to 75% in rural areas.
The Alliance for Zero Carbon Heating and Fuels for Ireland say the nationally representative survey of 1,000 people, also found that 70% were supportive of the increased use of advanced, synthetic and biofuels to reduce emissions without switching to EVS or heat pumps. “Retrofitting homes and installing heat pumps are great solutions - but not for all. There are significant upfront costs which many simply cannot afford given the persistent cost-of-living challenges.
