Good quality homes are important to everyone. Although often overlooked, housing is one of the most important sectors for providing stability and strength to the economy during difficult financial climates. Councillor Bev Craig, the Leader of Manchester City Council, rallies behind the urgent need to fill job roles and increase support for this growing industry.
Cllr Craig will be making several appearances and will host talks at both the Housing 2023 Jobs Fair and the wider Housing 2023 event. Below, she discusses the benefits of a career in the sector, and how working in housing can help make a positive and long-lasting impact on Manchester's wider community.
"The Council currently manages over 16,000 homes across Manchester as well. And since we're going to be embarking on a really ambitious period of building new homes in the region, it seems very fitting that we host Housing 2023 and its job fair in the city as it's such an important priority not just for the city of Manchester but Greater Manchester as a whole."
"Having attended the event in the past I know it to be a very successful, national conference that brings together sector leaders from across the country. But as the jobs fair is being given a higher profile this year it's a great chance for Manchester and Greater Manchester-based organisations to attract local talent and for Mancunians to find fantastic, well-paid jobs and represent their communities to the fullest.
