At a committee meeting, local elected representatives agreed to a motion from two independent councillors for a report to be drawn up by council officers to include options on the commissioning and costings of a memorial.
The motion by independent councillors Wesley Irvine and Steven Irvine states that the council “in recognition of the 70 years of service rendered by the late her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll gives consideration to the erection of a permanent memorial of Queen Elizabeth ll at the redeveloped Marine Garden
