Officers were called to Cornwall Street in East Kilbride town centre in the early hours of Saturday morning. The alarm was raised at around 2.30am.

The couple followed the women to the car park where police say, 'a further altercation' kicked off. As a result, the man got out of the car, 'armed with a weapon'. He assaulted the 28-year-old man before leaving the scene in the car with the two women. The male suspect is described as white, in his thirties and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark-coloured top with work or combat-style trousers that had orange flashes on the side.
