Defiant fans clash with police as they storm football ground to watch match after crowds were capped at 500

Restrictions in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are being brought in from today to combat Covid cases. Armed with flares and sporting banners reading, 'F**k the SNP', Celtic fans attempted to storm the ground.

In Wales, a maximum of six people are allowed to meet in pubs, cinemas and restaurants and social distancing is back while only 30 people will be allowed at indoor events with this being increased to 50 if it is outdoors. Large Hogmanay celebrations effectively banned in Scotland by restricting size of crowds who can gather. Northern Ireland nightclubs will be closed from today and dancing is now prohibited in hospitality venues.
