The Waterford man, 33, was killed when his car crashed during a pre-race test on the route near the town of Lobor in Croatia at around 11am on Thursday
Irish rally car legend Craig Breen was "more than just a driver, he was a true lover of the sport," said Hyundai Motorsport President Sean Kim following his shock death. In an emotional tribute, Mr Kim said: "The reality of yesterday has still not sunk in, and it is unlikely to for a very long time.
He also said the talented rally driver "wore his heart on his sleeve" and said he had a "way with words that was completely unique" before adding "his end-of-stage quotes were always a highlight." He was a world championship regular over the years, although rarely for a full season, and while not a winner he finished second in six rallies.
